5 Gum: Truth or Dare

Last year 5 Gum launch a special edition of their gum. The special edition was called 5 Truth or Dare. In the wrapper you have 3 truths or dares and you could go online to enter a contest they were having. I think this is a great idea because in having these truths and dares it makes the experience a very interactive one. This can even turn into a game with friends and maybe people would buy it more to see what other truths and dares other packages might have. They also designed the wrappers in a way that looks nice or clean. Each section of the wrapper has one truth or dare, for the most part one doesn't run off to the next truth or dare. The color of the wrappers for the most part is the color of the gum and they have the 5 in different sizes.The actual box has an elegant design because it's in black. It doesn't have much lettering or other images that can make the package design look cluttered.

Lay's Limon Chips

Today I'm going to talk about the design of the bag for the Lay's Limon Chips. These chips were inspired by a Mexican snack, you basically get some fried potato chips and you put some lemon/lime and/or some hot sauce. When these chips first came out I was skeptical to whether or not they were going to taste as good as when you put the lime juice on the chips. I must say that they do and they are my favorite.

Enough with the flavor part, let's analyze its packaging. As we know, they have the same packaging as all other chips. They come in a aluminum bag. Since the flavor of these chips is limon or in english it is lime, the color of the bag is a lime green or yellow green. Like in all of Lay's products and in all or most chips, the brand's logo appears at the top and centered. The chips are enlarged to show texture and it gives the consumer a sense as if they are already eating and tasting the chips. A juicy lime is also shown because that is the flavor of the chips. The bag is very clear in showing what the consumer is about to buy and eat. It is very simple because we just see the company's and brand's logo and the rest of the bag in just an enlarged visual of the product. This is great because as a consumer you don't need to see any extra stuff just an image of the product or maybe have a part of the bag that is see through where we can see the actual product.

Hair Dryer Attachments

I mentioned in my previous post that I was going to talk about hair dryer attachments since I talked about a hair dryer. Now there are various types of hair dryer attachments but the ones above are the most common: they are the diffuser (which is in the upper left hand corner), the concentrator (lower left corner), and the pick (right side). These attachments come in variations but they usually all look like the ones in the image. Their design can be kind of weird especially if you haven't seen them before, when I saw one of these attachments before I very confused. What in the world is this? What would you use this for? Attachments are usually very light weight this is because you wouldn't want a huge amount of added weight to a blow dryer. Some blow dryers can be a bit heavy although lately companies have been working to fix this issue; if you have one of these blow dryers and if you have a heavy attachment, then your hand is going to be very tired by the time you are done blow drying. Attachments are usually made out of plastic which is cheap and very lightweight. Each attachment has a purpose of how it is build, from its design to how they let the air out.

The Diffuser:

It is a bowl shaped attachment that is used for wavy, curly, or kinky hair ( I'm calling all of these hair types, curly hair). It has those big teeth so that it doesn't destroy the curl formation and pattern. It also has various tiny holes where the air flows thru because in this way the air isn't harsh and doesn't create frizz, which in curly hair it is very easy to do. The bowl shape is so that you can cup in various strands of hair making the hair more easy to dry but without the frizz.

The Concentrator:

It almost looks like a vacuum or a vacuum attachment. The concentrator concentrates heat in a specific part of the hair. Its design helps with this because the air flows almost in a line because of the nozzle's shape.

The Pick:

This comb attachment is used to create volume in your hair. The long and thin teeth that this attachment has helps create volume when you are combing your hair in an upward motion. The air that the blow dryer gives to the hair helps create even more volume because of the attachments opening in the middle.

These are the most common attachments. Attachments come in weird shapes but each of them serves a purpose.

Conair 1875 Watt Ionic Conditioning Hair Dryer

This is the Conair 1875 Watt Ionic Conditioning Hair Dryer, a pretty long name right. There are many hair dryers and many hair dryer brands. One of the most famous and common brand for hair dryers is Conair. There are hair dryers that cost hundreds of dollars while others cost as little as $15. Conair's hair dryers usually cost less than $75. This dryer costs approximately $25. This blow dryer is marketed more toward those who want to buy a blow dryer but don't want to spend much money. Not only is it an affordable blow dryer but it is a great blow dryer, users have rated it fairly high compared to other blow dryers that cost the same. I know that this is a great blow dryer because I own one of these but in the red version. What many users look in a blow dryer are different heat settings, speed settings, and a cool shot button. This blow dryer has two heat settings: high and warm. Users like having different heat settings because for most users the highest speed setting is too hot for their hair. Having another option is good for those people because it allows them to switch the dryer to a cooler setting and avoid hair damage. This hair dryer also has two speed settings, this is how fast the blow dryer blows air out.The settings are high and low, the low option is good if you don't want to get frizz or if you don't want to feel a big burst of air blowing in your face or head. Another option that this hair dryer has is its cool shot button,this can be helpful when the hair dryer starts to heat up, by pressing the button it sends cool air and therefore cooling the dryer. This button is also used to make your styled hair last longer. Another great feature is that it is lightweight compared to other hair dryers that are the same size. These options are what makes this hair dryer popular, not only that, as I mentioned I have a red version of it and in the picture it appears blue, there is also a purple and a grey version of the dryer. Having these different options make this hair dryer a great pick and makes this option one of the best options. Not only that, it is also available in most drugstores, and other places like Walmart and Target. Being affordable and having various options is great when looking for a blow dryer to purchase. Along with the price this dryer comes with attachments which I will cover on my next post, but they are basically enhancers for your blow dryer. Above are two attachments that come with this blow dryer, one is a heat concentrator and the other is called a diffuser, but as I said I will cover them in my next post.

The Sims

The Sims has been a very popular game over the past years. This game is a virtual reality game that now has had 3 versions of it and various expansion packs as they call it. This game is designed for anyone who wants to take a break from reality and create a new life with their Sim which is the character or avatar they create. You can customize your Sim: their physical appearance, the way they dress, how they behave, etc. Aside from this your Sim can have their own house in which you can pick which objects you want to have in it and how to decorate it. You can also have friends, pets, and even babies,.... yes I said babies. As I said this game has already had 3 versions of it and last year they released their most recent version (which makes that its 4th version) with better graphics and more options to better customize your avatar or Sim as they call them. This may be a good buy for those who want to go on virtual reality adventures. The expansion packs add more adventures, those who want to have pets to take care of can buy the pets pack, those who want to have a university experience can buy the university pack, their is also an expansion pack for different seasons and for those who like the night life. This game tries hard to have expansion packs that various types of people might like, in their version 3 there was an expansion pack for those who like supernatural stuff and they could turn their Sim into some sort of supernatural creature. In general this game is played more by adults and it is always released for computers, although there have been a couple of versions for gaming consoles but they aren't very customizable. In their most recent version (Sims 4) there still isn't a way for Mac users to play the game, but Windows users can play the game. This game is very popular that a version for Facebook was created, now unfortunately that was taken off, which was a shame because all the progress that users had made was deleted and it couldn't be recovered in another version of the Sims. I played the game when it was available in Facebook and I have to say it is very addicting and even though the actual Sim couldn't be very customized the house of your Sim was very customizable which made the game a very popular one in Facebook too. There are many virtual reality games and websites but the Sims seems to still be very popular because of its various customizable options. If virtual reality is your thing the Sims may be a game you might want to check out.
